It’s my second year as elected chairperson of The Halifax Gala Committee, and I’d like to start by expressing my continued thanks to the volunteers who serve on the committee throughout the year to make The Halifax Charity Gala the success that it has been since 1957.
Thank you to our member charities, supporting partners and commercial concessions for embracing our automated processes – it really helps our committee continue to deliver Halifax’s largest not-for-profit annual event.
I welcome this year West Yorkshire 4x4 volunteers, working in partnership to help deliver the procession alongside our Rotary Club (Halifax) volunteers. Also welcome is our continued link with Andy’s Man Club to help out on the gates. It is pulling together through partnership and collaboration, that is a real strength in Calderdale.
I’d also like to share how grateful I am to the 65+ member organisations we have, the good causes that exist to benefit the Calderdale community every day of every year. They make our borough a better place for everyone!
Our lifetime membership is tested again this year as 2 member organisations have updated their contact details, returning to participate after a few years off. New organisations continue to register. Please see or website for further details.
I’m humbled to be leading the team that continues to run our annual Gala so that these hardworking people have an opportunity to share with you all the wonderful things they’ve been doing over the past 12 months.
Next year will be our 67th Gala, on Saturday 14th June 2025. Please make a note of the date in your calendars, and we’ll see you back on Manor Heath.
